Wrap – Week Ended 8/29/14
Solid week to close out summer. Year to date the portfolios are doing well (we've added time-weighted 5 year annualized data for the three oldest portfolios in the table below:
- ZLT A up 22% YTD and 39.1% annualized 5 year average,
- ZLT B up 22% YTD and 40.8% annualized 5 year average, and
- ZLT D up 23.8% YTD and annualized 21.4% five average (the ZLT D owns almost all of the 34 stocks in the greater ZLT).
In case you missed it we put out a couple of pieces for Seeking Alpha over the last week:

Z – TPLM are you expecting the earnings to be a tradeable event (I remember when your option trades were more often). Or one of those good news so what kind of responses?
August 30th, 2014 at 10:00 amAs a domestic energy bull, I would not mind seeing this type of thinking incorporated into foreign policy:
http://www.rigzone.com/news/oil_gas/a/134726/US_Energy_Boom_Better_Than_Sanctions_Against_Russia
"Forget sanctions: the U.S. can do a lot more to put pressure on Russia by speeding approvals of liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminals and lifting the ban on crude oil exports. Approving the Keystone XL pipeline will be key, as it will pump 830,000 barrels of crude oil every day from the Canadian oil sands to Gulf Coast refineries, reducing U.S. dependence on imports of oil from more volatile regions and freeing up more US oil and gas for export."
That is a great idea, would help the US economy and hurt Russia. Unfortunately, Obama is not that smart.
