Wrap – Week Ended 3/29/13

Natural Gas Production Summary charts have been added below the usual weekly wrap, please scroll down.

We'll have full notes in the Monday post but note:

  1. the decline in the net short speculative natural gas position this year,
  2. that the gas directed rig count fell below 400 for the first time this cycle, and
  3. that natural gas supply continues to show signs of growth moderation.

We increased our exposure to gassier stocks in the ZLT during the first quarter.

If you have trouble seeing the right hand side of the table please adjust the zoom setting on your browser or use the "Print Friendly" to generate a more readable PDF.

We'll have the full slide shows for Supply (Production + Imports) and Demand in the Monday post.  For now, here are the quick production summary charts. Another month of declining production. Some of this is due to cold weather freeze up related production shut-ins but take note of Louisiana production really rolling over (better late than never and now in full swing) and a notable slowing in production out of Texas and out of the  "Other States" which until recently has been nothing but up.

zman, What are your current thoughts on EPL? Are you still mulling an add there? I just re-read your thoughts a few days ago and from last September.
