Wrap – Week Ended 11/4/11

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

We had a much stronger week around the ZLT than the indexes below would indicate. Next week look for ...

  • ... the Energy Earnings - 3Q11- Week III wrap in the Monday post,
  • ... 3Q reports from OAS, NOG, ROSE, MHR and a few others as the 3Q reporting season winds down,
  • ... an updated Catalyst List mid week,
  • ... a new company piece,
  • ...a full Bakken Players update late in the week.

Have a good weekend.

    Homwork….
    Looking ahead to next week…
S&P Futures price and volume have established a balanced area between 1217 and 1257.50. For the bulls areas of interest within the range are the CLVNs at 1241.50, 1229.75 and key support at 1217.
I see the Major acceptance areas at 1301 as the likely upside target and 1158 on the downside.
1234 is gathering strength as the major acceptance area within the current range.
As long as price rejects that area as too low
1270-75 is a deep and wide low volume area that will likely act as next substantial resistance to a year end rally and target of 1301.
Between 1203 and 1250 remains a very low volume area subject to large swings.

    correction
As long as price rejects that area as too low my expectation is for a rotation higher to 1301

OT: Those interested in Cigx. I ran across an interesting article about Alzheimer’s and inflammation in the April 9, 2011 Wall Street Journal.

    From the article:
“The discovery, announced this week, of several genetic mutations that predispose people toward Alzheimer’s disease is intriguing, because the genes are associated with cholesterol metabolism and inflammation. The Alzheimer’s jigsaw is a long way from being complete, but the pieces are emerging, and this new evidence fits quite nicely with the other pieces in suggesting a role for inflammation.”
