April 17th, 2007 at 10:54 am[...] we have the second most natural gas in storage for this time of year and that should help to mute gains in gas later this summer barring [...]
April 17th, 2007 at 5:11 pm[...] Natural Gas Holds Mid $7 As YoY Storage Deficit Increases. On the one hand, storage is at the third highest level for this time of year. I’d say score one for the bears but it had been running second to last year’s bloated levels. On the other hand, the YoY storage deficit, increased again as this past week’s paltry 18 Bcf injection met tougher comps last year. My thoughts on gas storage and prices going forward can be seen here. [...]

April 27th, 2007 at 8:16 amIf storage is so bearish, why is the price of spot month NG in the $7.50 range? Let us remember that “bearish”, as defined by a producer of NG, is anything below $5.00/mmbtu.

May 17th, 2007 at 3:26 am[...] Where I stand on gas before this report is almost cetainly where I’ll stand following it. I see gas in the near to medium term falling as low as $7 (but probably not) and ranging as high as $8.50 (but not without a good blow in Gulf). To get more of my thoughts on gas click here. [...]

May 25th, 2007 at 7:42 amWell, after being long NG stocks for quite some time, I have been taking profits the past several weeks and rotating into undervalued jr e&p plays. The bullish case was an easy one all winter and now we are looking quite oversupplied. None of this means of course that prices cant go up, but we are now at the point where we need several weather events to sustain forward momentum in prices. I am not one to bet either way on hurricanes as that is a fools game.
Looks like we end June with about 2500 bcf in storage and that is waaay too much to remain bullish. All things being equal, we could be seeing quite a bear trap being set for NG longs should there be no hurricanes in the GOM thru july.
