Summary comments will be included in the Monday Post in The Week That Was Section.

Holdings Watch:

We made the first adjustments to the ZLT-C since April of 2013.

  • PVA - we sold 40% of our position for $17.16, up 279% since entry in April 2012.  Nothing against PVA, it had just gotten over-large within the ZLT C,
  • We used part of the proceeds to add to a smaller position in the portfolio and will allocate the rest in the coming week.
  • We made a few more minor changes and took on one new position in the ZLT.
  • The Trading Blotter is updated

RE XLE  Breakout. One of three S&P Sectors still below their 2008 highs. XLF and XLU are the others.

Barron's – Cover story: $75 crude oil is bad news for Putin.  Rehash of Soros's involment with PVA. Encoraging mgmt to sell company?  EOG 2/1 split effective Monday 3/31.

I need a little perspective on oil price and airline stocks. If oil were to fall to say $80-$90 per barrel, it seems the overall market would also fall as the two seem correlated at least to a point. That would drag down airline stocks as well but as those events decouple, wouldn't it be very price appreciative to airline stocks?

All assuming we didn't fall into a recession of course and demand stayed consistent with current levels.

Z..would appreciate your thoughts on whether the US might try to use the SPR to suppress oil prices or get the Saudis to do their dirty work by increasing output?  That would obviously have a negative impact on the group.

Coversely, is there any chance the US might allow the export of oil to try and achieve the same effect?

Curious how these issues impact your view, if at all.  Thanks.

#10 You are welcome…rotation from high growth/momentum stocks into energy. Noticed the spike in demand volume in Nat Gas stocks. Hope it's a precursor to the break of the long term volume base.
